TMT Bars undergo thermomechanical treatment.
Quenching – Once the hot rolled bars are released from the finished
mill, they enter the 'Thermex System' water spray system. The highest
quality TMT Steel Bars Manufacturers
used Thermex Technology, which rapidly cools the outer core and ensures
their ductility. Rapid cooling forms a martensitic rim on the outer
core of TMT Rebars, while the core remains hot and austenitic.
This cooling method is referred to as Quenching.
Self
Tempering – Once the rebars have been removed from the Thermex
Quenching box, the core remains hotter than the surface, allowing heat
to flow from the core to the surface, resulting in Tempering of the
outer Martensite layer and the formation of 'Tempered Martensite'.
Atmospheric
Cooling – As soon as the self-tempering process is complete, the bars
will undergo atmospheric cooling. This is performed on a
normal-temperature cooling bed. Here, the austenitic core transforms
into a ferrite-pearlite structure. Consequently, the final structure
consists of a robust outer layer and a ductile centre. This procedure
strengthens the material's tensile strength, making it highly ductile
and weldable.
